2008 Yackings Contd

After coming back to America, I had really a tough time, I lost my RA mainly beaucse my project was done and second I left for India for a few weeks. Even though they offered me a long term project I had other plans so could not continue my work. But  Academically I had a great time I learnt so much and even had some hands on a new programming language. I must admit that this was the year I really understood what life was and had some great lessons learned through my way.

I contested in some beauty peagents, my intetntion behind them was really nothing, I just wanted to try everything in my life. I even participated in some T shirt Design competition for IEEE Society for ULL and Evening gown Sketch for Bloomingdale's.

After spring I headed California to my brother's place. I stayed with my brother and sister in law until the end of December and came back to Lafayette in Dec for my graduation. I had a bad time on the day of graduation. Just a week after my graduation It was New year and I celebrated with my friends Amitha and Deepthi.

2008 Yackings!

It been long time I have updated my blog. I have to keep up with my usual stuff that I do every day and eventually has some lagging.

My sister got married in Feb 2008. It was again my most memorable time I had spent with my family apart from some bad things that happened.  My sister's marriage was in Feb, I flew to my sisters place Florida from Lafayette and then we both were accompanied by my cousin at the Chicago airport who came to wish my sister Luck and safe journey to both of us. We had a blast in the airport. We sat on the floor and ate Vankaya Kura (Brinjal Curry) which is my cousin chinni akka famous for. Then we had some snaps together, my sister saw snow for the first time through glass windows in the airport (haha...). We were totally having fun until we realized that my sister lost her ticket from Chicago to India. I was waiting at the check in counter while my cousin and sis went to the airline service counter to get new tickets.

During the flight journey I had a slight temperature which I got from my sister. It was a difficult journey for me, I had to take pills all through my flight trip. We landed in Mumbia, India in the early morning and we had wait in queue for hours to get to the next flight from Mumbia to Chennai, the final destination.

Finally, we arrived in Chennai, my parents have already arrived there hours earlier. It has become like a tradition for our family  considering Chennai as an arrival and departure from USA and India. Later we reached our home in Madanapalle in the morning. On the way my sister ate Idli and sambar in a small road side restaurant. I had suffered with temperature for a week.

As my sister's marriage was in Nellore we traveled there few weeks before. And all the arrangements were mostly taken care of  by me especially the beauty and cosmetics department ;). Then THE DAY has come and it was a happy moment for my sister and I really felt very happy for her. Then her reception took place in Hyderabad which my jeeju's home city. My sister and I got our make up done by one of the beautician's who lives downstairs my Jeeju's home. We had some family snaps and the food was delicious, later the next day my mom, me and dad said farewell to my sister, I really felt sad to leave my sister. Even though my sis, my bro and me live in USA, It is difficult to meet often, right? Do you agree? !!!

Few days later it was the time for us to come back to USA and get back work. While coming back I came with my Jeeju and my sister.

You should have guts to live the way you want!

I used to think it is very easy to live how you want and do what ever you want to do in your life. But in reality is much more difficult even to think our own way. Since my child hood I was guided by mother or father or sister and brother. They never let me take my own decisions. I was not good at studies since my child hood. When I was 10 th class I picked interest  in joining a polytechnic college as I had some interest toward hotel management. Then I was not allowed to go in that direction because my family wanted me to go academically strong. Thinking of my idea then I laugh now that how stupid my thought was.

I was very afraid of mathematics, so I did not wanted to join MPC in my 11th standard. During my 10th class the biology subject grabbed my attention and really wanted to join BiPC, but some how I was brain washed and I took MPC. Then after my under graduation, I totally wanted to stay with my parents but was forced to go for higher studies.

I am glad because of the decisions taken by family, I have every thing I wanted and I am happy. But some where in the corner of my mind I was feeling  I have not done it my way and this is not me.

Should have the guts to live the way we want!

A Bad Experience

Yesterday I saw in you tube a contest for Christmas carol, the contest is to sing one of the four christmas carol songs and submit. I practiced the Carol thinking that I would participate in the contest. But some how when I found out that some profiles have been created with my name and picture in social sites. It seems some one has snatched my pictures and misusing them. Eventually I had to close all my social accounts. I got so upset and had to drop the idea of participating in the contest.

I feel so pity for those who do not dare to let their feelings out either love or hatred and who do not have even a modicum of common sense before they act . Instead of  doing this kind of dark acts I would have appreciated the person who would have the courage to come and share his/her feelings towards me. Anyhow I do not want waste more time thinking about the sad incident that has happened. Will be back here  with some other stuff soon.

2007 Jabbers (1)

My brother got engaged and has his marriage in Jan 2007, so I was very excited to visit my family. Had a great time with my family and a new member my sister in law joined us. After marriage my sister and me left to America and my bro and sis in law came later.

After coming back it was my first of school and as a teaching assistant. I spoke with my Professor and outlined the structure of classes, assignments and projects. As a TA I used to earn some money as form of stipend and it explored and expanded my investments on apparel and accessories.

So many things happened this year. It was my first time watching a Mardi gras Parade. It was so fun and it was so cold and had a great time with my friends. Had some get together with my roomies. Had a dance performance for Deepavli function. Started my fashion sketches. Hosted Potluck for year 2006 and 2007 consecutively.  Got my Assistant ship at LITE.Woahhhhhhh!!!! wait there is one more thing to come heard one more good news, my sister's marriage got fixed in the month of Feb 2008. And I forgot to tell you one more thing went to Dallas trip with my friends and had a Blast. I HAD ENOUGH  :). I shared some of the pics.
 

First Semester Of My school

Landed in Lafayette, Louisiana,  USA on AUG 22 2006 at 12.03 AM in the night, was picked up by the president of students and was taken to a girls room. Called my mom to let her know that I reached safely, then my sis and bro. I used to weep when woke up and when I sleep every day. My school was about to open in two and I started searching for jobs and funding going to every department and every professor to inquire any open positions.I could not find a job until middle of my semester then one of seniors recommended me for a small job in an English department I used to get 6$/Hr. I felt very happy coz that was my first ever earning.Generally it is a tradition that students who do not have funding/assistant ship can apply for them the following semester by getting a good grade in the first semester.

I was living with 5 girls Me, Harika, Deepika, Vidya, Srujana who are my friends now, me and Srujana is of same class and the rest of them were seniors. We had lot of fun time together especially watching movies together, shopping together, chit chat, studying for exams,doing projects everything was good. We moved like a family then, but I feel sad now that every one is busy with their schedules and we got lost in touch with each. Then there came Deepthi to join us as Vidya left after her graduation and she mingled with us instantly and we had a great time.

Then came the exams and projects and every body was busy with their works. Srujana got Assistant ship and felt happy for her. It was my turn to feel that stress waiting for funding, fortunately I also got Assistant ship. Since then we grew apart and could not spend time together  because of our work schedules.

It was December the end of semester, hence I planned to visit my sister in Florida. My cousin also planned to visit my sis and me Florida. It was the best time we spent together. We went to late night rides, late night photo sessions. What an amazing time we had. It was the time we got a call from our family that my brothers engagement has fixed and the marriage date is fixed in January.
